25 Impacts to Provide a Small Loan for a Family to Grow a Business
For the month of December, we provided 25 families in Indonesia with access to a small business loan to help them build sustainable livelihoods and secure brighter futures for generations to come.

What’s the project all about?
Two billion families worldwide live in poverty, surviving on less than US$3.20 a day. That means struggling to afford food, shelter, medicine, and education.
This project gives families a hand up—not a handout—by providing small loans to start businesses. It could be a sewing machine for tailoring or seeds for farming. With 98% of loans repaid and recycled, your impact keeps growing, reaching more families over time.

Why it matters?
A small loan can change everything. It means steady income, meals on the table, and children staying in school. It means dignity and hope.
Take Asria’s story from Rote Island, Indonesia:
Before receiving a loan, she worked as a rice grinder in the paddy fields—hard work with uncertain pay. Today, she runs a thriving tempeh-making business, doubling her income and ensuring her kids get an education.
Her days start at 3:30 AM and end at 10 PM, but every hour is worth it. When asked why she works so hard, Asria said:
“To fulfill the daily needs, to pay for my children’s education. It is important for the children; they must go to school.”
The bigger picture
This project is part of a broader movement to break the cycle of poverty through income generation and empowerment. By giving families the tools to earn and thrive, we’re creating ripples of change that last for generations.
Your Impact Matters
Every month, we support projects that create real change—from restoring sight to empowering entrepreneurs.
